Blog description.

Accentuating the Liberal in Classical Liberal: Advocating Ascendency of the Individual & a Politick & Literature to Fight the Rise & Rise of the Tax Surveillance State. 'Illigitum non carborundum'.

Liberty and freedom are two proud words that have been executed from the political lexicon: they were frog marched and stood before a wall of blank minds, then forcibly blindfolded, and shot, with the whimpering staccato of ‘equality’ and ‘fairness’ resounding over and over. And not only did this atrocity go unreported by journalists in the mainstream media, they were in the firing squad.

The premise of this blog is simple: the Soviets thought they had equality, and welfare from cradle to grave, until the illusory free lunch of redistribution took its inevitable course, and cost them everything they had. First to go was their privacy, after that their freedom, then on being ground down to an equality of poverty only, for many of them their lives as they tried to escape a life behind the Iron Curtain. In the state-enforced common good, was found only slavery to the prison of each other's mind; instead of the caring state, they had imposed the surveillance state to keep them in line. So why are we accumulating a national debt to build the slave state again in the West? Where is the contrarian, uncomfortable literature to put the state experiment finally to rest?

A Plea to the Labour Party – Find Your Spines (Euthanasia).

So now the Labour hierarchy, rank and file, whatever, gutless wonders, are putting pressure on Maryan Street to drop her euthanasia bill from the parliamentary ballot. Please stay brave  and keep it human for the Kiwis you’re representing, Maryan: if this bill is dropped because your party feels it might be too controversial with an election year coming, then your party really only is fit to be euthanised anymore.

Mind you, that such a basic human right to die with dignity in the arms of our loved ones, no one threatened with a jail sentence, is the subject of what is effectively a lottery as to whether it has a chance to become law or even debated, is offensive in itself to all we reasonable, thinking, humane people that have dropped the stone age mysticism of religion, as we once left our toys in the cot and began thinking on our own.

And to the hierarchy in the medical profession and their campaign of speaking out against legalised euthanasia 'on behalf of all' the doctors whom they represent, many who agree with euthanasia; you are closer in your minds to this archaic one of your number, than to a profession that cares about the welfare of its patients. This is a conscience matter: the governing doctor bodies must step aside and let their individual members decide where they stand on this issue. Because like everything, in a free society – yeah right - it’s always about individual responsibility.

This cruel kindy of a country. There needs to be a Western Spring: the occupants of the Fortress of Legislation told to go home, mind their own damned business. Here’s a radical thought: so long as you are harming no one, then do what you damned well like.
