Liberty and freedom are two proud words that have been executed from the political lexicon: they were frog marched and stood before a wall of blank minds, then forcibly blindfolded, and shot, with the whimpering staccato of ‘equality’ and ‘fairness’ resounding over and over. And not only did this atrocity go unreported by journalists in the mainstream media, they were in the firing squad.

The premise of this blog is simple: the Soviets thought they had equality, and welfare from cradle to grave, until the illusory free lunch of redistribution took its inevitable course, and cost them everything they had. First to go was their privacy, after that their freedom, then on being ground down to an equality of poverty only, for many of them their lives as they tried to escape a life behind the Iron Curtain. In the state-enforced common good, was found only slavery to the prison of each other's mind; instead of the caring state, they had imposed the surveillance state to keep them in line. So why are we accumulating a national debt to build the slave state again in the West? Where is the contrarian, uncomfortable literature to put the state experiment finally to rest?

A School Kid's Pocket Money, Car Parks, Phones … Tax Men Know No Decency, Nor Does the Minister



In its pogrom to ensure the individual has no private life from the Big Brother State, and no right to be left alone, fresh from taxing car parks so Big Brother Government can close down our CBD’s; fresh from the removal of the child rebate, so little Jimmy even has Big Brother Government muscling in and stealing his paper round money – albeit the statification of young Jimmy’s mind by this time is almost complete after his indoctrination by the New Zealand School Curriculum document wielding NZEI and PPTA, so there has been no public protest - now IRD are further moving into the minute of our lives, in their latest discussion – read, ‘where we tell you what we’re going to do’ –  document announcing plans to tax employee private use of phones, et al, paid by their employer.

And what do we get from the Twittering Minister of Taking in our Fortress of Legislation: a defence of the individual’s right to be left alone? Don’t be hysterical – according to Mr Dunne, although little revenue is concerned, in itself atrocious considering the out-of-proportion cost to firms of administrating this latest dictated nonsense from the Arrogance of Altruists, there is, wait for it … drum roll, a principle at stake. As always Mr Dunne has his head so far up the politick he can’t see the bowed necks of free men he lives his life treading upon – this new measure will be about ‘consistency of the legislation’, the one size jack boot necessary to fit the backsides of all of us.

And he’s right, as I tweeted to him:



Mean, miserly, thieving Big Brother Government, even taxing mum's call home to make sure the kids are alright; and I repeat my question to the Minister: you’re big on Twitter, and the tweets I see have nothing to do with running a country, they’re private, so are you standing on your principles and having the payroll mistress deduct PAYE after your wage is grossed up by the cost of your telecommunications? If not we had better send the auditors in to nose their way through your private tolls so we can see how many times to multiply your tax bill by the penalty system:
